At the core of AURA's economy sits AURI (token name: AURA AI) — a fully in-app utility token. AURI is earned by completing habits, mining passively, winning in Arena PvP, and playing games, and is interchangeable 1:1 with the in-app AuraCoins balance. Users can swap AURI against USD on the AURA Exchange — an internal AMM (PancakeSwap V2-style constant-product pool) running entirely on Firestore-backed reserves. Premium users may withdraw USD via Stripe Connect after passing Stripe Identity KYC. AURI is not deployed on any public blockchain — all balances, transfers, and trades are managed server-side by AURA, removing gas fees, bridge risk, and on-chain custody concerns.
Total supply is 1,000,000,000 AURI. AURI is distributed to users entirely through in-app rewards and passive mining — there is no presale and no team allocation. Passive mining emits from a fixed daily pool (102,740 AURI/day, halving yearly) up to a lifetime mined cap of 15,000,000 AURI; the remaining supply backs in-app rewards, the exchange liquidity pool and the airdrop. AURI is an in-app currency only and is not on any public blockchain.
Complementing wellness and the in-app economy, AURA now ships AURA Finance: a personal-finance module that lets users budget, log transactions (manual or via AI receipt parsing), set savings goals, generate reports, and chat with a Gemini-powered finance coach. Combined with mood and habit data, AURA can surface meaningful emotional-spending correlations that no standalone fintech app provides.

AURA is a Progressive Web App (PWA) built on Next.js 14 with a Firebase backend. It is installable on any device (iOS, Android, Desktop) directly from the browser — no App Store required. The app supports 11 languages and adapts automatically to the user's browser locale.
The application is hosted on Firebase App Hosting with global CDN distribution. User data is stored in Firestore with per-document security rules that ensure strict data ownership. AI features run via Google Vertex AI / Gemini APIs (currently Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite, May 2026). Fiat payments and payouts use Stripe Connect (Express accounts + Stripe Identity for KYC). All AURI balances and AURA Exchange trades are custodied server-side in Firestore — no public blockchain, no gas, no bridges.

Users can photograph a receipt; the image is sent to /api/ai/finance-parse, which calls Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite in vision mode to extract merchant, total, currency, date, and line items. The user reviews and confirms before the transaction is persisted. No third-party OCR provider — Gemini handles everything in a single round-trip.

The AURA Exchange is an internal trading venue where users buy and sell AURI against USD. It runs entirely on AURA's servers — there is no public blockchain, no on-chain bridge, no gas fees, and no external custody risk. Liquidity is provided by a PancakeSwap V2-style constant-product AMM (x · y = k), with all reserves stored in a single Firestore document and all swaps settled atomically via Firestore transactions.

The AURA Exchange operates a continuous liquidity layer that ensures the order book and price chart always reflect active market activity. Small, balanced trades cluster around the prevailing spot price within ±0.5% — net pool drift is ≈ 0, so the layer creates healthy volume without distorting price discovery. When users place real swaps, the price moves naturally; the liquidity layer simply continues pacing around the new equilibrium.

Firestore security rules enforce per-user data ownership at the database level — server-side code cannot override the rules. Every API route additionally verifies the Firebase ID token server-side using the Admin SDK before mutating any document.
Every swap is executed inside a Firestore runTransaction: pool reserves are read, slippage and liquidity guards (≥ 30% drain blocked) are evaluated, the user's AuraCoins / USD balance is debited or credited, and the trade record is written — all atomically. There is no race window in which a balance can be double-spent.
USD payouts to a user's bank account require:
Deposits via Stripe PaymentIntent and trading on the AMM remain open to all authenticated users without KYC, in line with consumer-finance best practice.
AURI no longer exists as a public-chain token. All balances are server-side and custodied by AURA. This removes wallet phishing, bridge exploits, and gas overhead — and lets us refund clear operational mistakes when they happen, something on-chain custody cannot.

A living in-app market. Soft consumables (vitality, XP, streak freeze) are priced in AURI and float hourly with community demand; cosmetics are fixed-price. A gamified, localized social wellness feed blending the micro-post focus of X with the vertical scrolling flow of TikTok. Users earn AuraCoins (AURI) for views, comments, and shares, while creators are incentivized to post quality content. Features profile verifications (Blue Checkmark), paid CPM ad campaigns via Stripe, tipping, and automatic 7-day data expiration.
AURI now works as a real wallet. Beyond earning, mining and trading for USD, users can send and receive AURI peer-to-peer: transfer AURI to any AURA user, or get paid in AURI. Transfers are instant and carry zero fee, with an optional fiat value and a note, so AURI can be used to settle real-world value between users. Each transfer is an atomic Firestore transaction (debit sender, credit recipient) logged in aura_transactions as type: p2p; the recipient receives a push notification and balances update live via onSnapshot. AURI can also be sent inside chats. AURI remains an in-app utility currency — not legal tender — and is not on any public blockchain.

AuraCoins Economy
AuraCoins are the in-app soft currency. Users earn them by completing habits (5 coins/check-in), winning challenges, Arena battles, and daily bonuses. Coins are spent in the Aura Shop for cosmetic upgrades, Streak Freezes, and premium boosts. A full transaction history is displayed with collapsible log.
Streak System
Daily habit completion builds streaks. Missed days break streaks unless a Streak Freeze is active (purchased with AuraCoins). Frozen dates are visually indicated on habit cards with a blue glow and snowflake icon. Streak Share Cards allow users to export branded 1080×1080 px images to social media.
Achievements
