Cookie Policy

Last update: June 13, 2026

AURA uses cookies and local storage technologies (such as LocalStorage) to ensure the proper technical functioning of the Service, remember your preferences, and collect metrics to optimize the application. On this page, we explain in detail and in compliance with the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR what cookies we use and how to manage them.

1. What are Cookies and LocalStorage?

Cookies are small text files that websites save on your device during browsing. In addition to these, AURA uses equivalent technologies such as the browser's LocalStorage. These technologies allow us to run the application offline, maintain your login session, and save your local habits and goals in real-time.

2. Essential and Technical Cookies (First-Party)

These cookies and local storage items are essential to enable navigation and use of the application (for example, enabling authentication via Google Firebase Auth, storing the Zustand local database state such as chosen language, dark/light theme, and adaptive UI preferences). Since they are necessary to provide the service requested by the user, they do not require prior consent and cannot be disabled.

3. Third-Party Cookies and Services

AURA integrates third-party services for advanced features, which may set their own cookies on your device: (a) Google Firebase (Auth, Analytics, Firestore, Realtime Database): sets session cookies to manage security and user access. (b) Stripe: sets cookies required for processing Premium subscription payments, preventing financial fraud, and ensuring correct gateway operations. (c) Google Vertex AI / Gemini API: AI calls and responses are encrypted and protected, but processing may generate session cookies to ensure transmission stability and safety.

4. Analytical Cookies and Performance Tracking

We use statistical analysis tools (such as Firebase Analytics) to collect aggregated and anonymous data on Service usage (e.g., most visited pages, load times, app crashes). This data is used solely to diagnose technical issues, optimize performance, and improve the user experience.

5. Consent Management and Browser Options

You can choose to limit or block cookies by changing your web browser settings. If you use AURA as a PWA (Progressive Web App), you can delete local data by clearing the app cache or your phone's browser data. Please note that disabling or deleting essential technologies will prevent you from maintaining your session or using offline features.
