Code a volleyball match live in three taps per action. AURA Scout tracks the score and the rotations for you and produces sideout and breakpoint per rotation, full player stats and a printable match report. An assistant can code the match while you coach, and you get a notification when the report is ready.
Volleyball Match Scouting on Your Phone, With the Report Written for You
AURA Scout is live volleyball scouting built for one person standing at the side of the court with a phone or a tablet. It uses the notation coaches already know — S, R, E, A, B, D and F for the skills, and the # + ! - / = scale for how each one went — so an action costs three taps: who, what, how it went. You never tell it who won the point: tapping an attack as a kill is the point. The score, the serve and both rotations follow from that one rule, so the rotation you are watching is always the rotation the numbers are filed under. The whole match is stored as an append-only list of events, which makes undo exact even in the middle of a rally, survives a reload, and lets the report be rebuilt later. At the end you get sideout and breakpoint for each of your six rotations, per-player attack efficiency, reception positivity, aces, blocks and errors, and a printable match report.
Why use AURA Scout — Volleyball Match Scouting
Who, which skill, how it went. The symbols are the ones used on paper sheets and in professional scouting, so a coach who has scouted before needs no manual and one who has not learns six symbols.
A team rotates only when it wins a rally it did not serve. That single rule is applied for you, so the serving player and the six on court are always right without anyone tracking them by hand.
The two lines that decide what you train next week. Best and worst rotation are highlighted, so you know which six is leaking before you plan the next practice.
Events are queued while the connection is down and mirrored on the device, so a tablet that reloads mid-match does not lose the match.
Invite an assistant coach or a club scout with a code and they code the match on their own phone while you coach. The report says who coded it, and you get a push notification the moment the match is closed.
How to scout a volleyball match with AURA Scout
- 1
Open the match
Enter the opponent, the date, the competition, home or away and whether it is best of five or three. The rules of your category — sets to 25, tie break to 15, libero, substitutions — are applied automatically.
- 2
Set the line-up
Tap your six players in zone order from zone 1 to zone 6 and say who serves first. Do it again at the start of every set.
- 3
Code the rally
Tap the player, the skill and the evaluation. Terminal actions score the point themselves. Two large buttons handle the points nobody wants to code, and undo removes the last action exactly.
- 4
Read the report
Switch to the stats tab during or after the match, filter by set, and export the match report as a PDF with the set scores, the team summary, the rotation table and the full player table.
Frequently asked questions
How much does scouting a match cost?
The first match of every team is free. Each match after that costs 1 USD paid in AuraCoins, charged once when you open the match, never per rally and never at the end. Reading and exporting a match you already scouted costs nothing.
What statistics does it produce?
Sideout and breakpoint overall and for each of the six rotations, attack efficiency, kill percentage, reception positive and perfect percentages, serve aces and errors, block points, digs, the point breakdown between attack, block, serve and opponent errors, and a per-player table with points and errors.
Does it work without an internet connection?
The live match is stored on the device as well as on the server. Actions coded while the connection is down are queued and sent when it returns, and the screen shows how many are still waiting to sync.
Can I correct a mistake?
Yes. Undo removes the last action and everything is recalculated from the event log, so the score, the rotation and the statistics can never end up disagreeing with each other.
What does the on-court and off-court split show?
Once you have scouted a few matches, each player gets the team sideout percentage while they were on court next to the percentage while they were not. It is only shown when there are enough rallies on both sides, and it is a correlation rather than a cause: your best six usually play together.
Is this an official match record?
No. AURA Scout produces a coaching report from the data you code. It is not an official federation match sheet and does not replace one.
