AURA Naval — Online Battleship 1v1 with Ranked Elo and Weekly Tournaments
AURA Naval is a naval battle game inside the Aura app: two players deploy five ships on a 10x10 grid and take turns firing until one fleet is gone. What makes it different from a paper game is where the boards live. Both fleets are stored on the server and every shot is resolved there, so no browser ever holds the layout it is shooting at — the client is told only miss, hit or sunk. Shots strictly alternate, one per turn, and consecutive hits across your turns multiply the points a shot is worth up to three times, so a match carries a real score alongside the win or the loss. That score feeds the Elo ladder and the weekly 8-player knockout. Matchmaking looks for a player near your rating and hands the seat to AURA AI after 25 seconds rather than leaving you in a queue, so a game is always one tap away.
Why use AURA Naval
Ship positions live on the server and are never sent to the opposing browser. The AURA AI opponent plays from its own shot history for the same reason — it does not receive the fleet it is firing at.
Every hit scores, sinking a ship scores more, and a streak of hits multiplies both up to 3x. Accuracy, a surviving fleet and a quick finish add end-of-match bonuses on a win.
Ranked duels move your Elo and run from Cadet to Fleet Admiral. Casual matches are unlimited, enable the radar sweep, and never touch your rating.
One AuraCoins entry buys a bracket seat. Each round is a real duel against a calibrated AURA AI and the score the server computes for it decides who advances, so a round is played whenever you are free rather than at a fixed hour.
How to play AURA Naval
- 1
Deploy your fleet
Place five ships — carrier, battleship, cruiser, submarine and destroyer — on the 10x10 grid. Ships may not touch each other, not even diagonally. Tap Random if you would rather the server draw a legal layout.
- 2
Find an opponent
Pick Ranked or Casual. Matchmaking searches for a player near your rating and, after 25 seconds without one, starts the duel against AURA AI at a difficulty matched to your Elo.
- 3
Fire, one shot per turn
Tap a cell in enemy waters. Hit or miss, the turn passes to your opponent; a hit raises the streak multiplier for your next shot. You have 25 seconds per shot.
- 4
Sink the fleet
The first player to sink all five enemy ships wins the duel, the end-of-match bonuses and the AuraCoins the score is worth.
Frequently asked questions
Is AURA Naval free to play?
Yes. AURA Naval runs in your browser with no download. Casual duels are unlimited; ranked duels use a daily allowance of 3 on the free plan and 10 with Premium, and the weekly tournament has an AuraCoins entry.
Can my opponent see where my ships are?
No. Both fleets are written to a server node that no client can read, and the only thing a shot returns is miss, hit or sunk. This applies to the AURA AI opponent too: it picks its next cell from its own shot history using a hunt-and-target search, without ever receiving your layout.
How is the match score calculated?
A hit is worth 100 points and sinking a ship adds 250 per cell of that ship, both multiplied by your current hit streak up to 3x. Winning adds bonuses for accuracy, for every cell of your own fleet still afloat and for finishing in few shots. The server computes all of it from the shots it resolved, so no score can be sent from a browser.
How many AuraCoins can I earn?
A ranked win against a person pays around 11,000 to 13,000 AuraCoins, a fought loss still pays for the damage it did, and casual matches pay a reduced share. AURA Naval pays at most 50,000 AuraCoins per day per account.
How does the weekly tournament work?
Eight seats, one AuraCoins entry each, and 70 percent of the entries form the prize pool — 70 percent of it to the champion and 30 percent to the runner-up. Each round is a duel against a calibrated AURA AI with 48 hours to play it; the higher score advances. A round posts itself the moment the duel ends, and a round nobody plays inside the deadline is forfeited.
What happens if I lose connection during a duel?
The match state lives on the server, so reopening the page puts you back on the same board with the same score. If nobody moves for six minutes the player still at the board wins; if both sides walk away the duel is voided and pays nobody.
