AURA Coach โ Your Volleyball Season, Planned Session by Session
AURA Coach is an assistant coach for volleyball inside the Aura app. You enter your team once โ federation, age category, roster, training days, match days, the equipment your gym actually owns and your season dates โ and it lays out the entire season before you plan a single practice: preparation, pre-season, the two halves of the championship, the winter break and the transition, with mesocycles that build for three weeks and unload on the fourth. Every training slot gets a load from 1 to 10, a jump budget, a focus and a physical block, all derived from where the slot sits relative to the next match. AURA AI then writes each session from a curated drill library of 500 exercises: it never invents a drill, it picks the ones your gym and your age group can actually run, and a deterministic validator refuses any session that breaks the block order, the duration or the jump ceiling. The result is printable, with court diagrams drawn as vectors, so you carry a sheet into the gym instead of a phone. The roster holds what a coach measures with a tape against the wall - standing height, spike reach and block reach - and the session writer uses the gap between the reach of a player and the net to pick targets that player can actually hit. Body weight is never asked for or stored. After each practice you mark the register - present, late, excused, injured, absent - and the season totals come out as a printable report or a CSV for the club secretary. Your club badge sits on the team page and on the header of every PDF.
Why use AURA Coach for Volleyball
Macrocycles, mesocycles with deload weeks and microcycles are computed from your calendar. The day before a match is a rehearsal, the day after is recovery, and the load curve follows the championship instead of ignoring it.
Each age band carries its own jump ceiling and forbidden exercise families. A U12 session is capped at 40 jumps with no external load; a senior session is not. A session over the ceiling is rejected before it ever reaches you.
Declare your court, balls, boxes, hurdles, bands, ropes and weights. A drill that needs equipment you do not own is never offered, so nothing in the plan is impossible on the night.
Every session exports to a PDF with the diagram of each drill drawn as vectors, the wall-clock time of each block, the setup, the execution, the volume and the coaching points. The club badge you upload is printed on the header of the practice sheet, the match report and the attendance report.
The call-up sheet with the squad, the meeting time and the venue, plus the lineup slip for the referee laid out twice on one landscape page so you cut it in half - one copy for the officials, one for the bench. Each set block has a place for the captain and for both liberos, L1 and L2. The same call-up also goes out as a plain-text message, so it can be pasted straight into the parents chat group. It costs nothing: it is paper, not AI.
How to plan a volleyball season with AURA Coach
- 1
Create your team
Pick your federation and age category, add the roster with nicknames, birth years, jersey numbers and roles, and set the net height if your local body uses another one.
- 2
Set your week and your season
Add your training days with their start time, duration and the space you have โ full court, half court or off court โ then your match days and the dates of pre-season, first match, winter break and last match.
- 3
Declare your gym
Tick what the gym owns and how much of it. Quantities matter: four balls and twenty balls produce different drills.
- 4
Generate and print
Open any session in the calendar and generate it. Untick whoever is missing tonight and the session is rebuilt around the players actually there. Export the PDF and take it to the gym. When the practice is over, mark the register so the attendance report builds itself.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a training session cost?
The first session of every team is free. Each session after that costs 1 USD paid in AuraCoins, the in-app currency, and includes one free regeneration if you want a different one. Browsing your season plan, your drill library and your team costs nothing.
Which federations and age categories are supported?
Fourteen federations are built in, including FIPAV with its real Italian categories (S3, U12 to U19, Senior) and divisions from Serie A1 down to 3a Divisione, plus FIVB international defaults for the other national bodies. The category decides the format, the net height, the libero and block rules and the load ceiling.
Does it adapt if players are missing?
Yes. Before generating you untick whoever is absent. The session is built for the number of players actually in the gym, uncovered roles are listed, and blocks that cannot run with that squad โ a six against six with seven players, for instance โ give their minutes to the blocks that can. After the practice you also mark what actually happened, and the season register exports to PDF or CSV with a percentage per player that leaves excused and injured absences out of the total.
Can the AI invent an exercise that does not exist?
No. AURA AI chooses only from a curated library of 500 drills, each with its own diagram, age bands, equipment and jump cost. A session that references anything else, breaks the block order or exceeds the jump budget is refused by a deterministic check and never delivered.
Can somebody else help me run the team?
Yes. You can invite an assistant coach or someone from the club with a code. They can open and code matches and mark the attendance register, so you can coach from the bench instead of tapping a tablet. They cannot edit the roster or generate practices, and everything is charged to you, the head coach, never to them.
